They offer comfortable rooms that really feel like one with nature as they are completely open, with mosquito nets as the only protection. All bungalows have sea views, a large wooden deck with sun loungers and a private hammock. Lapa Rios Eco Lodge is very caring about its surroundings and they have even opened a school for the village children where the hotel staff teaches English.

Day 6 Osa Peninsula – Pacuare

In the morning you return by plane to San José for further travel through the beautiful landscape to the Pacuare River. Pacuare Lodge is unlike any other hotel and is a “must” in Costa Rica. The best way to the jungle lodge is via wild rafting in an inflatable boat, and suddenly the term “hotel transfer” takes on a new and breathtaking meaning. High among the trees are exclusive suites that offer a carefree life on wooden decks in eco-friendly luxury accompanied by a thousand-year-old rainforest. Some suites have their own pools up among the treetops that are fed by spring water. One hour a day, the electricity is turned on and then the lounge becomes Pacuare’s natural gathering place. Then a three-course dinner is served in the dim light of the candles, haute cuisine presented on real porcelain and spiced with home-grown herbs. Pacuare Lodge is a unique experience.

Day 7 Pacuare

Together with the guides at your lodge, you make walks in the rainforest and explore the lodge’s own “Canopy Walkway” where you get a breathtaking overview of the rainforest’s treetops. Of course there is also time to just take it easy by the pool or listen to the sounds of the rainforest during a siesta in a hammock.

Day 8 Pacaure – Arenal

After breakfast you go rafting again to get out of the rainforest. After landing and changing, you meet for a transfer to Rio Blanco where you are picked up for a further trip to La Fortuna, one of the most beautiful regions in Costa Rica. Your hotel is nestled in the greenery overlooking Arenal Volcano.

Day 9 Volcano Arenal
